The board of directors members at the Jeddah Chamber adopted the idea of setting up Jeddah’s Merchants Chair, that aims to motivate communication with business community and relevant government officials in order to discuss business significant issues. The idea of the “Jeddah’s Merchants Chair” is inspired from Merkaz, where people in the past meet to discuss issues and problems, communicate and strengthen ties and relations between families and resolve disputes and conflicts between families or neighbors.
It has been almost a year since the inauguration of the chair by HRH Prince Khalid Al Faisal, the Governor of Makkah Region, and since then business owners, experts, government officials and diplomatic crop (ambassadors and consuls), the chair members, occasionally meet to discuss business, economic and social issues in Jeddah, and then address letters for their the recommendations and ideas to the relevant entities. In fact, the chair is a place where visions integrated with the chamber thirteen strategic objectives, that have been announced since the beginning of the current session, and will last till the end of 2013. The chair program and activities strengthens indeed the development of the chamber services.
